Carl Crawford sits as the Dodgers battle the Reds for the third game of a four-game series on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium. It marks the first game not started by the outfielder since the All-Star break. Crawford is sick and has a fever that got bad enough to require a trip to the emergency room, per Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register.

Crawford has a seven-game hitting streak, hitting .424 (14-for-33) during that span with three doubles, but he's also 5-for-23 (.217) against Bronson Arroyo, starting Saturday night for the Reds.

Skip Schumaker gets the start in left field for the Dodgers. He is hitting .375/.415/.417 with two doubles in 53 career plate appearances against Arroyo, including 16-for-32 (.500) since 2009.

Schumaker has a hit in each of his last seven starts, hitting .370 (10-for-27) in those games. Schumaker in July is hitting .394/.412/.576, an OPS second only to Hanley Ramirez among Dodgers with at least 25 plate appearances this month.

The Dodgers have scored six or more runs in 12 of their last 22 games.
