The Dodgers announced that they have acquired right-handed pitcher Ricky Nolasco from the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor league right-handed pitchers Steven Ames, Josh Wall and Angel Sanchez. The Dodgers also acquired international signing bonus slot No. 96 valued at $197,000 from the Marlins as part of the deal.

Both Ames and Wall were on 40-man roster. Dodgers now have 38 players on 40-man roster pending any post-trade moves.

Nolasco's remaining salary if he joins Dodgers tomorrow is $5,341,530 (full season is $11.5 million)

With Lucas Tirado's $1 million bonus and the reported $400,000 total given to Venezuelan outfielder Daniel Padilla and Venezuelan right-handed pitcher Alvaro Trillo, the Dodgers had already spent $1.4 million of their now $2,519,600 international spending cap.

MLB.com Miami Marlin beat reporter Joe Frisaro got this quote from Ricky Nolasco after the trade was completed:

"I'm definitely excited. It's L.A., the team that I grew up going to the games as a kid and stuff," Nolasco told MLB.com. "It's kind of surreal now, until I'm actually there. It will take time to sink in, but I'm definitely excited. My whole family couldn't be happier. I'll try to blend in as quickly as I can."
