The Dodgers are putting their brand new video boards to good use, and for the second time this season will show a baseball movie after a game at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers will show a screening of The Sandlot after their home game against the Padres on Sunday, Sept. 1.
The Sandlot is one of the best baseball movies of all-time, with Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez one of the most fabled players on screen. The movie is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its release. Much like The Matrix, The Sandlot is great as a stand-alone movie that had no sequels.
If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend watching it, and what better way to watch it than for free, after watching a baseball game.
Another classic character from the movie is Ham Porter, the catcher on the boys' sandlot team. Here is a clip of him in action.
This marks the second time the Dodgers have shown a film on their new high-definition video boards in both left and right field this season. On July 13 the Dodgers showed 42 after their game against the Rockies.
