Ricky Nolasco and Kenley Jansen combined to throw the Dodgers' MLB-best 19th shutout on Wednesday afternoon to beat the Cubs and capture the series against Chicago. The strong pitching effort was backed by homers from Hanley Ramirez at Dodger Stadium
The Dodgers have won eight of Ricky Nolasco's 10 starts, and the right-hander hasn't allowed more than three runs in any start since joining the team. Wednesday was his second straight start with eight scoreless innings.
The Dodgers beat the Cubs four times in Chicago earlier in August without using either Zack Greinke or Clayton Kershaw. Those two pitchers start the first two games of the series for the Dodgers as the Cubs come to Chavez Ravine.
