Dodgers-Diamondbacks: Edinson Volquez vs. Trevor Cahill

Edinson Volquez makes his second start as a Dodger on Tuesday, and his first start at Dodger Stadium since joining the team.

The Dodgers try to knock a couple more off their magic number on Tuesday night, looking to move from Reggie Smith to Steve Garvey, as they host the Diamondbacks in the second game of their series at Dodger Stadium.

Edinson Volquez makes his second start since joining the Dodgers, looking to rebound from last Wednesday's debacle at Coors Field. Volquez allowed four runs in four innings in Denver, but has had success against the D-Backs in his career.

In four home starts against Arizona (with the Reds and Padres, all from 2010-2013), Volquez is 1-1 with a 2.73 ERA with four quality starts.

Behind Volquez will be mostly the same lineup as Monday night, including three-homer man Juan Uribe batting sixth at third base. A.J. Ellis is back behind the plate, bating seventh, after getting Monday off. Ellis followed up a 9-for-59 slump, which dated back to Aug. 12, with a pair of two-hit performances in his last two games.

Trevor Cahill gets the call for Arizona, looking to improve his unblemished record against the Dodgers. The right-hander is 5-0 with a 2.10 ERA in eight career starts against the Dodgers, and has never allowed more than three runs in any start.
