The Dodgers send Zack Greinke to the mound on Thursday night looking for his 15th win of the season in the series opener against the Giants at Dodger Stadium.
Though the Dodgers have faced the Giants in four different series this season this is Greinke's first start as a Dodger against their rivals. But the right-hander enters play Thursday night looking for to win his seventh straight decision.
Greinke is 6-0 with a 1.45 ERA in his last seven starts and 11-1 with a 2.13 ERA in his last 15 starts. He has allowed just 15 runs in his last 12 starts, including more than two runs just once during that span, and more than two walks only twice in those 12 stars.
Matt Cain has had a down season in 2013, including allowing nine runs in 15⅔ innings against the Dodgers. But eight of those runs came in one start, after Cain allowed just one run in 13⅓ innings in his first two starts. He has a 2.71 ERA in 12 career starts at Dodger Stadium, though is just 2-2 with eight no-decisions.
