The Dodgers open what they hope will be a division-clinching four-game series against the Diamondbacks on Monday night in Phoenix. Here's some miscellaneous notes heading into the opener at Chase Field.
The Dodgers are 8-7 against the Diamondbacks, including 4-2 at Chase Field. In their last meeting in Phoenix, July 8-10, the Dodgers swept the three-game series.
Hyun-jin Ryu has 20 quality starts, second on the Dodgers to Clayton Kershaw's 25. Ryu has a quality start in 74.1% (20-of-27) of his outings, also second to Kershaw (25-of-31, 80.6%).
Ryu and Jose Fernandez of the Marlins each have 20 quality starts, the most by a first-year starter in MLB since Brandon Webb had 21 in 2003 for Arizona.
Trevor Cahill had a quality start last Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, and two of his three runs allowed in the no-decision were unearned. It was the ninth quality start for Cahill in 22 starts this season (40.9%).
