PHOENIX -- One win away from clinching the National League West, the Dodgers will send a lineup against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday night with one starter back and another getting a night off. Carl Crawford is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday, but shortstop Hanley Ramirez sits.
Crawford left Saturday night's game in the third inning with back tightness then sat out the next three games. He hit on the field during batting practice on Tuesday and threw on Monday, as was said to be feeling better on Tuesday night. Crawford is currently fighting a 3-for-30 slump over his last nine games.
Both Ramirez and manager Don Mattingly said Ramirez felt fine after playing Tuesday night, his first game since Thursday. But after Ramirez was 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored, Mattingly wouldn't commit to either Ramirez or Matt Kemp in Wednesday's starting lineup, saying he'd wait and see how they feel on Wednesday.
Michael Young gets the start at third base, and is batting third. It is his sixth start in 16 games since joining the Dodgers.
