Dodgers 9/3/13 minor league report - Raptors get shut down by Roy Oswalt

With the loss the Raptors have now been eliminated from the playoff hunt

Minor League Player of the DayKyle Farmer (Ogden) - 3 for 4, 1 2B.  The Dodgers 2013 8th round pick out of Georgia, Farmer has put together an outstanding season for the Raptors this year with a .344 average and a .918 OPS.  He's definitely a little old for the league at 23 years of age, but he's setting himself up for a solid promotion in 2014.

AAA – Season over

AA – Season over

HiA – Playoffs start on Wednesday and the Quakes will be playing the 66ers (Angels)

LoA – Playoffs start on Wednesday and the Loons will be playing the Silver Hawks (Dbacks)

Rookie Ogden – The rehabbing Roy Oswalt led the Grand Junction Rockies to a 3 - 1 win over the Raptors on Tuesday.  Oswalt tossed 5.2 innings of shutout ball, out-dueling Ogden starter Luis De Paula who allowed just 3 hits and 1 run himself.  He did walk 4, however, and the 1 run he permitted resulted in the loss.  Michael Johnson and Ricky Perez both also gave up a run in relief.  On offense, player of the day Kyle Farmer had the only performance as he went 3 for 4 with the team's only extra base hit, a double.  Joey Curletta knocked in the only run while Adam Law went 1 for 4 with a stolen base and a run scored.  Finally, it should be noted that with the loss the Raptors have been eliminated from post season play.

Rookie Arizona – Season over

DSL – Season over

Coming up – The Loons will send 2013 first round pick Chris Anderson to the mound in their playoff opener, while Jon Michael Redding will be the starter for the Quakes.  The Raptors, who are still playing regular season games, will use Scott Barlow on Wednesday.
