HiA – The Quakes went from jubilation to disappointment in the matter of minutes as their 7 - 6 loss to the 66ers (Angels) ended their season. Down by two in the top of the 9th, the Rancho offense rallied for three runs to take the lead. The first late run came on an O'Koyea Dickson solo shot, while three singles and a ground out plated the other two scores. In the bottom of the 9th, however, closer Craig Stem gave up three singles of his own which allowed Inland Empire to walk off with the win. Going back to the start of the game, Lindsey Caughel didn't have his best stuff as he allowed 5 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits over 4.1 frames. Daniel Coulombe then tossed a scoreless inning and Raydel Sanchez followed by getting 8 straight outs, but after that is when Stem came in. On offense Scott Wingo went 2 for 4 and drove in the short lived go ahead run in the top of the 9th, while Corey Seager also played a role in the late rally as he singled and scored. Darnell Sweeney's double was the Quakes only other extra base hit outside of Dickson's homer.

Rookie Ogden – The Raptors won big on Friday, tossing the Chukars (Royals) in a 8 - 1 victory. Everyone in the starting lineup had at least one base knock as the Ogden offense accumulated 16 hits on the night. Joey Curletta collected 3 singles and drove in a pair, while Jacob Scavuzzo went 3 for 5 with a double. Justin Chigbogu connected on a two bagger as well, and Jesmuel Valentin knocked in 2 with a couple of hits. On the mound starter Victor Araujo had his best outing of the year as he tossed 6 shutout frames, striking out 8 and walking just 1. James Baune gave up a run in relief, but Jose Agusto Diaz fanned all three batters he faced in the 9th to secure the win.

Coming up – The Raptors will be the only game in town on Saturday as they send Jose De Leon to the mound in their penultimate game of the season.
