Minor League Player of the Day – Jesmuel Valentin (Ogden) 2 for 3, 1 3B, 2 walks. Valentin finished the season with 5 consecutive multi-hit games, the last one winning him the player of the day honor. The season ending hot streak boosted Jesmuel's average to .284 with the Raptors, and even more impressive is that he walked almost as much as he struck out during his time in Ogden.

Rookie Ogden – The Raptors lost their season finale on Sunday, falling to the Rockies 6 to 3. Starter Luis De Paula threw relatively well in the defeat, allowing just 2 runs over 6 frames on 5 hits. Reliever Franklin Perez, on the other hand, had trouble in his first appearance for Ogden as he gave up 2 more runs in just an inning of work, then Jacob Rhame permitted a couple of scores as well later in the game. On offense Pat Stover went 2 for 4 with a couple of doubles and 2 RBI's, while Jacob Scavuzzo and Kyle Farmer had two hits each as well. Player of the day Jesmuel Valentin also had a big game as he reached base 4 times on a single, a triple, and two walks.

Coming up – The minor league season is now over, but we'll resume minor league coverage when the Arizona Fall League starts in October. I'll also be reviewing each minor league team this off season, and of course will be posting my annual minor league rankings as well.
