Here is a look back at Week 3 in the Arizona Fall League, which featured a hot Darnell Sweeney at the plate.

After moving around a bit last week, seeing time at shortstop and center field, Sweeney played all four of his games this week at second base, and was locked in at the plate.

Sweeney has a seven-game hitting streak, and in four games this week was 7-for-17 (.412) with three doubles, a home run, a walk, seven runs scored and four RBI. He was 4-for-5 with three extra-base hits on Wednesday against Peoria, missing a cycle by a triple.

Scott Schebler also has a seven-game hitting streak, and has driven in at least one run in six straight contests. During the week in four games he was 5-for-14 (.357) with a home run and two walks.

Corey Seager was 6-for-19 (.316) with two doubles and three walks in his five games during the week, and on Monday was named to the Fall Stars Game, the showcase of top prospects in the AFL to be played this Saturday.

Daniel Coulombe got married last Sunday (Oct. 19), pitched in one game - striking out two of his three batters faced - on Tuesday (in front of Stan Kasten and Josh Byrnes, among others), then was removed from the roster on Thursday, presumably on his honeymoon. To top it all off, Coulombe turned 25 on Sunday.

Matt Magill didn't have as good of a week. He pitched in two games, allowing five runs in each one, and walked five batters in his 6⅓ total innings during the week.

Blake Smith had an up-and-down week, striking out three in a scoreless inning on Tuesday, then allowed four runs while recording only one out on Friday.

Michael Thomas has yet to allow a run in any of his five AFL appearances, with nine strikeouts and three baserunners in his seven innings. Thomas retired all nine batters he faced last week, with five strikeouts.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming week for Glendale (all games 12:35 p.m. PT):

  • Monday: at Surprise
  • Tuesday: at Salt River
  • Wednesday: vs. Peoria
  • Thursday: at Peoria
  • Friday: vs. Mesa
  • Saturday: Fall Stars Game, 5 p.m. (live on MLB Network)
