The offseason is upon us but that doesn't mean we completely without real, live baseball just yet. Dodgers shortstop prospect Corey Seager is playing in the 2014 Fall Stars Game on Saturday night live from Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The game starts at 5 p.m. PT and will be televised by MLB Network and simulcast online at MLB.com. The game will also be broadcast on MLB Network Radio, available on Sirius channel 209, XM channel 89 or the SiriusXM app.
Seager is starting at shortstop and bating third for the West squad, the only Dodger playing in the game. In 17 games so far in the Arizona Fall League, the 20-year-old Seager is hitting .265/.333/.456 with six doubles, two triples and a home run in 75 plate appearances.
His home run came on Wednesday against Peoria off of Royals pitcher Daniel Stumpf, a left-hander. Seager has an active eight-game hitting streak, hitting .344 (11-for-32) with four extra-base hits during that span.
This is the second straight year in the Fall Stars Game for Seager, who was 0-for-3 with an RBI ground out in the 2013 contest.
Diamondbacks starting pitching prospect Archie Bradley starts for the East, and will be the first pitcher Seager faces in Saturday's game.
