Dodgers spring training 2015: Pitchers & catchers report Feb. 19

LOS ANGELES -- Four of the greatest words of the baseball offseason now have more meaning pertaining to the Dodgers, as "pitchers and catchers report" is more defined. Dodgers battery mates will report to Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz. on Thursday, Feb. 19, with the first workout to be held one day later.

Dodgers position players are required to report on Wednesday, Feb. 25, with the first full squad workout on Feb. 26.

The Dodgers open up their spring training schedule on Wednesday, March 4 against the White Sox, the first of two straight days of games against their Camelback Ranch co-tenants.

The Dodgers play 30 Cactus League games in Arizona in 29 days, including 17 games at Camelback Ranch. In addition, the team will battle the Texas Rangers for two games at the Alamadome in San Antonio on March 20-21.

This will be a relative normal spring training for the Dodgers, who in 2014 saw their schedule turned upside down by opening the regular season in Australia more than a week before any other team played a game. In 2014, Dodgers pitchers and catchers reported to spring training on Feb. 8, a full 50 days before the team's first regular season game on domestic soil, with their Cactus League schedule done a full two weeks early.

In 2015, the Dodgers' reporting date of Feb. 20 is 45 days before opening day, scheduled for Monday, April 5 against the Padres at Dodger Stadium.
