GLENDALE -- A.J. Ellis is back in the starting lineup on Friday afternoon as the Dodgers play the White Sox at Camelback Ranch. Both clubs share the facility, but the Dodgers are the home team in Friday's matchup.
Ellis was sent home Thursday morning after getting the flu on Wednesday.
Utility man Chone Figgins gets the start in left field, a position he has played in 76 games and 521 innings in his career. Manager Don Mattingly said on Thursday that Figgins would see some time in the outfield in addition to second base, third base, and shortstop.
Hyun-Jin Ryu gets the start for the Dodgers, and will be followed on the mound by Matt Magill, Kenley Jansen, Brian Wilson, Chris Perez and J.P. Howell.
Chris Sale starts for the White Sox in their first Cactus League contest.
Scheduled Dodgers reserves on Friday are J.C. Boscan at catcher, Clint Robinson at first base, Dee Gordon at second base, Brendan Harris at shortstop, Miguel Rojas at third base, Mike Baxter in left field, Nick Buss in center field and Joc Pederson in right field.
