Minor League Player of the DayTyson Brummett (AA) - 4 IP, 1 hit, 0 Runs, 2 K's.  Brummett, who has been playing professionally since 2007 and had a cup of coffee with the Phillies in 2012, tossed a 4 inning 1-hitter in his 2014 debut in what turned out to be a shutout win for the Lookouts.

AAA – The Isotopes comeback fell just short on Thursday as Albuquerque fell to Reno (Dbacks) 5 to 4.  Down by 3 heading into the final frame the Topes plated a couple of runs thanks to four singles, but Joc Pederson, who had doubled and walked earlier in the game, flew out to center with two runners on to end the game.  Nick Buss was the offensive leader as he went 3 for 4 with a couple of RBI's, while Miguel Rojas had a double, a single, and a RBI in 4 at bats.  On the mound Matt Magill took the loss after allowing 4 hits and 4 runs in 4 innings.  Colt Hynes was the highlight in relief as he struck out 3 over 2 perfect frames.

AA – Four Lookout pitchers combined for a 4-hit shutout on Thursday as Chattanooga blanked the Smokies (Cubs) 1 to 0.  Starter Tyson Brummett tossed the first four innings, and while he walked 4, he only allowed 1 hit and didn't permit a run.  Craig Stem and Mike Thomas both threw 2 shutout innings in relief, then Pedro Baez finished off the win with a perfect 9th.  The Lookout offense was also very quiet in this game as they were scoreless through 8 innings, but in the 9th Ozzie Martinez collected his third single which resulted in the games only run.

HiA – The Quakes suffered another heart breaking loss on Thursday as Rancho fell to Modesto (Rockies) 6 to 5.  The Quakes were leading after 8 innings thanks to a gutsy performance from starter Lindsey Caughel who got through 7 innings while giving 4 runs on 8 hits, but Luis Meza couldn't hold the lead.  It wasn't entirely Meza's fault, however, as a two-out error by Chris Jacobs extended the 9th and allowed the eventually winning hit to occur.  At the plate almost every batter in the Rancho lineup had at least one hit in this game, but Pratt Maynard was the only one to have more than one base knock as he went 2 for 4 with a couple of doubles and 2 RBI's.  Corey Seager and Jose Capellan also doubled, while Robbie Garvey had the game's only triple.

LoA – The Loons got spanked by the Kernels (Twins) on Thursday in a 11 - 2 loss.  Starter Zachary Bird got knocked around for 7 runs in his 3.1 innings of work, while reliever Jack McGeary also struggled and permitted 3 more runs.  At the plate, the only highlights for Loons were a couple of doubles from Alex Santana and a 3 for 4 effort from Joey Curletta that also included a two-bagger.

Coming up – A trio of former top draft picks will be throwing on Friday as Zach Lee gets the ball for the Isotopes, Chris Reed takes the mound for the Lookouts, and Tom Windle toes the rubber for the Quakes.  James Campbell will be the starter for the Loons.

Minor League Transactions – AAA: Catcher John Cannon, the newest member of the Isotopes, was placed on the DL before even getting an at bat due to a right ankle sprain.  Griff Erickson was added to the Albuquerque roster to take his place.  AA: 2B Ryan Adams was placed on the DL.
