Dodgers 4/12/14 minor league report - Pederson continues hot start

Joc Pederson is hitting .419/.550/.806 in his first few weeks as an Isotope

Minor League Player of the DayJoc Pederson (AAA) - Pederson went 2 for 4 with a double, walk, stolen base and two runs scored.

AAA – Isotopes entered 8th inning clinging to a one-run lead but allowed the tying run to score and then gave up two runs in the 9th as the Rainiers (Mariners) defeated the Isotopes 9 to 7. Carlos Triunfel had a hit and two runs scored, Clint Robinson went 2 for 3 and 2 RBI and NIck Buss homered.   Joc Pederson also went 2 for 4.  Henry Sosa was staked to an early 6 - 1 lead but then the Rainiers scored 3 runs in the 6th and 2 runs in the 7th to tie the game.  Isotopes scored 1 in the bottom of the 7th to take the lead again but the Rainiers tied it up in the 8th.   Jose Dominguez struck out 3 in the 9th but he also was the losing pitcher as the Rainiers scored the final 2 runs of the night.

AA – Despite a nice pitching performance by starting pitcher Andres Santiago, the Smokies (Cubs) won 5 to 1 over the Lookouts.  Andres Santiago did everything he could for Chattanooga, he struck out 7 in 5 innings pitched, giving up just one run. Santiago also went 1 for 2 and scored the Lookouts sole run.  But then, in the 7th inning, the Smokies plated 4 runs and that was the ballgame.

HiA – The winning team again scored just 3 runs as this time the Nuts (Rockies) won 3 to 2 over the QuakesFabio Martinez started for the Quakes and he gave up all 3 runs, walking 4 and striking out 6.  Blake Smith pitched a scoreless inning.  James Baldwin went 1 for 3 with a stolen base, Corey Seager had one hit in 5 plate appearances.

LoA – The game was postponed and the Loons and River Bandits (Astros) have a doubleheader scheduled on Sunday.

Coming upRed Patterson goes for the Isotopes, Garrett Gould tries to help the Lookouts take the last game of the series, and Chris Anderson makes his third start for the Quakes. Luis Chirinos and Greg Harris are scheduled to pitch the doubleheader for the Loons.

Minor League Transactions – Albuquerque (AAA) - infielder Alex Guerrero was activated from disabled list, Brendan Harris was released.  Chattanooga (AA) - first baseman Angelo Songco was released.  Rancho Cucamonga (HiA) - RHP Arismendy Ozoria and infielder Leo Rodriguez were assigned to the Quakes, outfielder Scott Wingo was released, RHP Luis Meza was put on the disabled list.
