Minor League Player of the DayChris Reed (AA) - 8 innings, 1 run, 7 hits, 0 walks, 4 strikeouts.  Reed has pitched well in April with a 1.71 ERA in 31.2 innings with 28 strikes and a .170 BAA.

AAA – Game 1 - It is rare for a pitcher to score the only run for a team but it is rarer when that run is the only one scored as the Isotopes took the first game of the pair played against Grizzlies as Albuquerque beat Fresno 1 - 0.  Matt Magill who was only on base because his sacrifice bunt attempt failed, Magill later scored as Clint Robinson walked with the bases loaded.  Magill pitched 6 innings of no-run ball, allowing only 2 hits, he walked 3 and struck out 3.  Paco Rodriguez pitched a inning for the save.  Carlos Triunfel had 2 hits and Chone Figgins, Miguel Olivo and Nick Buss each had a hit.

AAA – Game 2 -The Isotopes only scored 2 runs but that was enough as Albuquerque took the second game of the day with a 2 - 0 win over Fresno.  Stephen Fife pitched a little better than Magill as he also pitched 6 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk and striking out 2.  Sam Demel got the 1 inning save.  Nick Buss had 2 hits in 4 at bats, Carlos Triunfel started at third base but was removed at the top of the third inning (possibly as a precaution in case he was needed in LA).

AA – The Barons (White Sox) scored just once as Chris Reed and Jarret Martin pitched Chattanooga to a 4 to 1 win over Birmingham.  Chris Reed scattered 7 hits in 8 innings and Jarret Martin got his third save with one inning of work with 2 strikeouts.  Scott Schebler had two hits (7 hits in the first 3 games of this series) including a triple, Erisbel Arruebarrena went 1 for 3 and a run scored, Brian Cavazos-Galvez tripled and drove in 2.

HiA – There was a fireworks show scheduled for after the game and the Quakes made sure the JetHawks (Astros) didn't have any explosions of their own as Rancho Cucamonga shutout Lancaster 3 - 0.  Lindsay Caughel won his first game of the season with 7 solid innings of shutout pitching, just allowing 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.  Rob Rogers and Blake Smith each pitched a scoreless inning with Smith picking up his first save.  Adam Law extended his hitting streak to 14 games going 2 for 4 and RBI, Robbie Garvey, Chris Jacobs, Jeremy Rathjen and Jose Capellan each had one hit.  Corey Seager sat out for the third straight game.

LoAThe Dragons (Reds) jumped out early, scoring 4 runs in the top of second inning as Dayton defeated Great Lakes 6 to 1.  Jonathan Martinez gave up 4 runs in 5 innings as he allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3.  Michael Johnson pitched 2 scoreless innings and Luis De Paula gave up 2 runs and 3 hits in 2 innings. Paul Hoenecke hit his second home run of the season and Jacob Scavuzzo went 1 for 3.

Coming up – Zach Lee takes on the Grizzlies as the Isotopes go for the series win, Andres Santiago will go for the Lookouts, Tom Windle will make his fourth start for the Quakes and Zachary Bird will try to salvage a Loons' win against the Dragons.

Minor League Transactions – AA:  LHP Eric Eadington on the 7-day disabled list for left elbow strain.  A: RHP Jharel Cotton assigned from Ogden Raptors, RHP Fabio Martinez assigned to Ogden Raptors.  LoA: LHP Luis De Paula assigned from Ogden Raptors, placed RHP Francisco Villa on the 7-day disabled list.
