Minor League Player of the DayAdam Law (A) -2 for 5 and a run scored. Law has a 15-game hitting streak, the 2013 draft pick has hit well over .300 on all three teams he has played on.

AAA Isotopes tried to take three in a row but the Grizzlies (Giants) scored 3 runs in the first and Fresno went on to beat Albuquerque 5 - 1.  Zach Lee started and had his roughest PCL start of the young season, giving up 5 runs in 3.2 innings.  He also allowed 10 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4.  Joc Pederson had 1 hit but struck out the other 3 times (Pederson has struck out 25 times in 86 at bats and has a .458 (59 AB)/.185 (27 AB) platoon split), Alex Guerrero had a pinch-hit single.

AA – A 1-1 tie was broken in the 7th as the Barons (White Sox) scored 4 in the top of 7th and Birmingham defeated  Chattanooga 7- 2 in 8 innings due to bad weather.  Andres Santiago continued a series of good Lookout starting pitching, he pitched 5 innings, gave up a run, 4 hits, no walks and 2 strikeouts.  Juan Gonzalez saw 3 doubles, a single and an error score 4 in the 7th. All the offense came from the first 3 Lookout batters, Brian Cavazos-Galvez was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Darnell Sweeney and Ryan Adams had the other 2 hits for the Lookouts.

HiA – The Quakes defeated the  JetHawks (Astros) in what might be seen as a typical Cal League as there were a good number of runs scored in the Rancho Cucamonga 8 - 6 win over Lancaster.  Tom Windle saw 3 runs plate before the top of the first inning.  Windle went 5 innings, gave up 4 runs, 2 earned, 3 hits, a walk and 6 strikeouts.  Four relief pitchers were used to go the last 4 innings, Blake Smith picked up his second save.  Robbie Garvey, Tyler Ogle, Leo Rodriguez and Adam Law had 2 hits apiece.  Chris Jacobs homered, walked and scored twice.

LoAThe Dragons (Reds) had a great weekend as they swept a three game set and defeated Great Lakes 3 to 1.  Zachary Bird did not pitch poorly as 2 unearned runs were scored in his 5 innings of work.  Victor Araujo gave up a solo shot in 3 innings.  The Loons offense was the best in the league as the weekend began but they were held down by the Dragons.  Joey Curletta went 1 for 4, Webster Rivas had 2 hits.

Coming up – Isotope pitcher Henry Sosa starts first the game of the homestand, Garrett Gould takes the mound for the Lookouts, Fabio Martinez will start for the Quakes at nearby Inland Empire and James Campbell hopes to end a 4-game losing streak as the Loons go on the road.
