Minor League Player of the Day – Corey Seager (HiA) - 3 for 5, 2 2B's. Seager connected on a pair of doubles for the second day in a row to capture the player of the day award. Since returning from the DL Cory has been on fire, and while he has yet to homer in the month of May, he is slugging .571 for the month and has a 1.084 OPS.
AAA – The Isotopes were embarrassed on Sunday in an 11 - 0 loss to the Chihuahuas (Padres). The Albuquerque offense managed just 4 hits in this game, and they were all singles. The only notable man in the lineup was AJ Ellis who was making his first rehab appearance. AJ played the entire game at catcher and went 1 for 2 with a walk at the dish. On the mound Red Patterson got hit hard as he allowed 7 hits and 6 runs over 4 frames. Sam Demel gave up 3 more runs in 3 innings of relief, then Colt Hynes permitted the final two runs of the game.
AA – Tyson Brummett allowed more than 2 runs for the first time this season and the result was a 4 - 2 Lookout loss to the Stars (Brewers). Brummett actually only gave up 5 hits and 3 runs (2 earned) over 6.2 frames, but that was too much for the Chattanooga offense to make up. Matt Shelton permitted the final run of the game to score, but he also struck out 5 in just 2 innings. On offense Darnell Sweeney went 2 for 3 with a double, while O'Koyea Dickson did him one better with a pair of two baggers. Chris O'Brien drove in both Lookout runs with a pair of sacrifice flies.
HiA – The Quakes downed the Storm (Padres) for the second day in a row, this time in a 4 - 2, extra inning victory. Jharel Cotton threw very well for Rancho in his first start of the season, allowing just 2 hits over 4 shutout innings. Daniel Coulombe gave up an unearned run in the 5th, but the Quakes still held a one run lead heading into the 9th. Unfortunately Blake Smith blew the save after allowing a couple of walks and a single which sent the game to extras. In the 10th Corey Seager's third hit and second double of the game put his club in position to score the winning runs on a wild pitch and a Jon Garcia sac fly. Brandon Dixon also continued his strong month of May by going 2 for 5 with a double.
LoA – Off day
Coming up – The Quakes have Monday off, but the rest of the clubs will be in action including Matt Magill and the Isotopes. Jonathan Martinez will throw for the Loons while the Lookouts starter is yet to be determined.
Minor League Transactions – AAA: As mentioned above, AJ Ellis joined the Isotopes on a rehab assignment.
