Minor League Player of the Day Red Patterson (AAA) - 6 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 9 strikeouts.  Patterson has alternated good and poor starts in his last 5 games for the Isotopes.  This was his good start, 9 strikeouts is his season high.

AAA Alex Guerrero homered again and Red Patterson had a solid start but a 3 run rally by the Grizzlies (Giants) was enough for the 4 - 3 win. As noted about, Patterson pitched very well for 6 innings but Colt Hynes gave up 3 runs on 3 hits in the 7th that gave the game to Fresno.  After all the home runs the night before, it seemed anti-climatic for the Isotopes to have only two, the 2-run shot by Guerrero and Tim Federowicz had a pinch-hit solo shot.  Joc Pederson was 1 for 4 with a run scored and 3 strikeouts.

AA – The Lookouts tied the game in the top of the 8th but the BayBears (Diamondbacks) were able to push across a run for the 4 - 3 victoryTyson Brummett had a quality start (6 IP and 3 runs allowed), Brummett also gave up 5 hits, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.  Mike Thomas gave up the winning run in his one inning of work.  Jeremy Hazelbaker went 3 for 4 with a walk and a double.  O'Koyea Dickson went 1 for 4 with a run scored and Noel Cuevas went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Erisbel Arruebarrena had a 1 for 5 game.

HiA Julio Urias and Corey Seager had good games but the Quakes got outscored by a touchdown plus an extra point in losing 14 - 7 to the JetHawks (Astros). Urias pitched 4 innings, allowing a run, 3 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.  LHP Geoff Brown had pitched well in his pairing with Urias but not last night, Brown couldn't get an out, allowing 7 runs, 6 earned in the top of the 5th. All 9 Quake's batters reached base, Brandon Dixon went 3 for 5, Robbie Garvey, Corey Seager, Aaron Miller and Tyler Ogle each had 2 hits.  Chris Jacobs hit his 9th home run.

LoA – The Loons continued their winning ways against the Hot Rods (Rays) as they took a one-run win 5 - 4. Victor Arano had his fourth straight mixed start, he did strike out 5 against 2 walks but Arano gave up 3 runs on 5 hits in 3.1 innings.  Greg Harris got the win going 3 innings and allowing a run on 2 hits and striking out 4.  Mark Pope picked up his third save.  Kyle Farmer went 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI, Josmar Cordero has yet to walk but he his hitting .500 (15 for 30) and last night he went 2 for 4.  Cordero has struck out 5 times.

Coming up Jonathan Martinez will go for the Loons at 4:05 p.m. PDT. Chris Reed will start for the Lookouts at 4:05 p.m., Jharel Cotton will take the mound for the Quakes at 7:05 p.m. and Jeff Bennett will make his debut with the Isotopes at 7:05 p.m.
