Minor League Player of the DayVictor Araujo (LoA) - 2 IP, 1 walk, 1 strikeout.  Araujo, 21 year old RHP has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen this season and he has been very good.  In 12 games, he has pitched 23 innings, given up 10 hits, 5 runs (2 earned), 4 walks and striking out 24.  In his last 8 appearances, 15 IP, 5 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks and 17 strikeouts.

AAA The Isotopes and the Aces (Diamondbacks) game was postponed due to rain, it will be made up as part of a doubleheader that is scheduled for June 27th.

AA – The Lookouts fell behind early and by a lot eventually losing to the  Mississippi Braves 15 to 2.  When the pitching highlight is outfielder Brian Cavazoz-Galvez recording the final out in the top of the 9th, that should tell you what kind of day it was for Lookout pitchers.  Garrett Gould started and faced 12 batters, Gould gave up 5 hits, 8 runs and 3 walks while recording just 4 outs before calling it a day.  All kidding aside, Hector Solo and Jarret Martin pitched fine, recording scoreless outings until Craig Stem gave up 5 runs in the 9th leading to Cavazoz-Galvez coming into the game.  The keystone combo of Darnell Sweeney (SS) and Ryan Adams (2B) provided most of the offense, Sweeney went 3 for 4 with a run scored and Adams went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored.

HiA – The Quakes gave the Storm (Padres) an 8 - 1 lead and then the Quakes went to work scoring 8 runs from 7th to the 9th inning only to lose in the 10th by a 10 - 9 score. Chris Anderson started and he presents a challenge for the Dodger pitching development team, he has good stuff, sitting at 92-93 while touching 94-95.  Anderson struck out 8 while walking none in 4.1 innings.  But while his stuff appears filthy down in the zone, the last two run-scoring hits he gave up were on 0-2 pitches that were up so the batter was able to just poke the ball into outfield for the hit. Trailing 8 -1, Robbie Garvey began the comeback by hitting his second 3-run home run in the 7th innings over the last 2 games.  Still the Quakes trailed by 3 as they started the bottom of the 9th but then Corey Seager hit a rocket over the right field wall for a two-run home run (Seager went 2 for 5 with that home run and 2 RBI) and Aaron Miller hit a solo shot with two out to tie the game.  The Quakes appeared to heading to the bottom of the 10th all tied up but Diego Goris (who had quite game for the Storm going 4 for 6 with a double and two home runs) hit his second home run of the game which provided the winning run.

LoA - The Loons pushed across 4 runs in the top of 7th as they defeated the Captains (Cubs) 9 to 6.  Scott Barlow started and went 5 innings, giving up 5 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4.  Victor Araujo pitched 2 scoreless innings and got his first win of the year, he walked 1 and struck out 1.  Mark Pope recorded his 5th save.  Jesmuel Valentin was 2 for 4 with a walk and 2 RBI, Josmar Cordero was 2 for 4, Brandon Trinkwon and Jacob Scavuzzo each had 3 hits and Spencer Navin was also 2 for 4.

Coming up Victor Arano goes to the mound for Great Lakes, Carlos Frias starts for Albuquerque, Julio Urias toes the rubber for Rancho Cucamonga, Chattanooga will finish this suspended game from April 28th and then Nick Struck will start the regularly scheduled game.

Minor League Transactions – AAA: RHP Stephen Fife placed on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to May 23, 2014 for right forearm tightness, RHP Pedro Baez assigned to Albuquerque from Chattanooga.  HiA: 3B Steven Proscia activated from the temporarily inactive list.  LoA: LHP Luis De Paula placed on the 7-day disabled list, RHP Jordan Hershiser assigned to Great Lakes from Ogden.
