Rancho Cucamonga is again the sole winner of the four Dodger affiliates and the Dodgers call up another pitcher from the minors.

Minor League Player of the Day

Rancho Cucamonga right-handed starter Fabio Martinez threw a 2-hitter for 7 innings, giving up a run while walking 4 and striking out 4.  Martinez remains tough in giving up hits but he keeps his IP/BB/K totals so close.  (33 IP/27 BB/29 K)

Games

Triple-A Albuquerque:  Fresno took a 5-1 lead and withstood a late Albuquerque rally as the Grizzlies (Giants) defeated the Isotopes 6 -4 at Albuquerque. Henry Sosa gave up 10 hits but none of the 5 runs scored during his 5 innings were earned.     Yimi Garcia and Colt Hynes each pitched a scoreless inning.  Alex Guerrero got a RBI single.  Carlos Triunfel and Miguel Rojas each had two hits. Joc Pederson did go 0-4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts but he also had an assist.

Double-A Chattanooga:   Tennessee doubled up Chattanooga as the Smokies (Cubs) scored 8 runs and the Lookouts only scored 4 in the loss. Andres Santiago gave up 7 runs, 6 earned in 3.2 innings.  Catcher Chris O'Brien went 2 for 4 and he hit his 3rd home run of the season.

Advanced Class-A Rancho Cucamonga:  The Quakes have had a lot of trouble scoring runs this season but you wouldn't know it judging from their last few games.  On Saturday, the Quakes scored seven runs and the Ports (A's) scored just once. Fabio Martinez's start was noted above as he pitched well.  Home runs by Chris Jacobs, Steven Proscia and and Brandon Dixon paced the Quakes scoring.

Class-A Great Lakes:  The Loons were never in this game as the Hot Rods (Rays) took a 5 - 0 lead as Bowling Green defeated Great Lakes 8 - 1.  Victor Arano started the season with just 1 earned run given up in 13.2 IP but in this game his line was 4 IP, 8 hits and 5 runs, Arano did strike out 5.  Joey Curletta is third in the Midwest League with his .362 average, he was 1 for 3 with a walk on Saturday.
