Yasiel Puig out of lineup Monday after crashing into wall Sunday

Puig is hitting .309/.397/.500 this season.

One day after violently crashing into the right field wall on the final play of Sunday's game in Miami, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is out of the lineup for Monday's series opener against the Nationals.

Puig was shaken up after hitting the wall on Sunday and was said to be hurting in multiple areas, including his head and ankle. Puig did pass a concussion test after the game.

Puig leads all Dodgers outfielders with 26 starts this season, and with his hot streak of late — a six-game hitting streak, and hitting .385/.458/.596 over his last 12 contests — established himself as essentially the one true everyday outfielder of the bunch. Puig started each of the last 14 games before sitting Monday.

Carl Crawford, starting in left field, bats second for the first time since April 24. Puig had batted second in each of the last nine games. Crawford is 3-for-8 (.375) with a double and a walk against Nationals starter Jordan Zimmermann.

Matt Kemp is 5-for-12 (.417) with two home runs and a double against Zimmermann.

Nats roster move

Before Monday night's game, the Nationals activated outfielder Scott Hairston from the disabled list and optioned outfielder Steven Souza to Triple-A Syracuse.
