Cody Bellinger separates shoulder, Juan Uribe rehabs, Zach Lee, Tim Federowicz hot

A recap of a busy Thursday among Dodgers minor league affiliates.

Michael Horowitz

Ogden Raptors first baseman Cody Bellinger, the Dodgers' fourth-round pick in the 2013 draft, dislocated his right (non-throwing) shoulder in a collision at first base on Wednesday night, the organization confirmed on Thursday.

There is no timetable yet for Bellinger's return. He left Ogden for Phoenix on Thursday to be examined by team doctors.

Bellinger, who turns 19 on July 13, collided with Grand Junction shortstop Wilson Soriano at first base while trying to feel an errant throw from third baseman Yensys Capellan in the top of the ninth inning, and immediately left the game. Bellinger was 3-for-7 with a walk in two games with the Raptors.

Minor League Player of the Day

Isotopes starter Zach Lee pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out three, picking up his sixth win of the season.

Triple-A Albuquerque

In addition to Lee controlling the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals) in a 5-0 win, Isotopes catcher Tim Federowicz remained on fire. Federowicz hit two home runs and drove in three runs in the win, and is 7-for-18 (.389) with four home runs and a double in his four games since getting optioned back to Albuquerque. In his first two stints with the Isotopes this year Federowicz had one home run in 17 games. Starting shortstop Walter Ibarra was 3-for-4 with three doubles in the win.

Double-A Chattanooga

The good news for the Lookouts is that they didn't have to face Cubs super prospect Kris Bryant, who was promoted over the All-Star break to Triple-A Iowa. But his replacement at third base, Christian Villaneuva, went 2-for-5 and drove home the winning run for Tennessee in the ninth inning with a walk-off single to beat Chattanooga 4-3. The Lookouts got home runs from Southern League All-Stars Darnell Sweeney and Scott Schebler in defeat, and third baseman Daniel Mayora had three of the club's seven hits.

Advanced Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

Dodgers third baseman Juan Uribe was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the first game of his rehab assignment with the Quakes, in their 4-3 win over the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels). Uribe was the designated hitter on Thursday night, and the plan is for him to play third base on both Friday and Saturday before possible activation by the Dodgers on their road trip, likely in Kansas City.

Jharel Cotton allowed a pair of first inning runs but recovered to strikeout nine in seven innings for the win. Corey Seager, still a Quake, was 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit by pitch, two runs scored and an RBI in his first game back after the All-Star break.

Class-A Great Lakes

Jonathan Martinez struck out seven in his six scoreless innings but the Loons couldn't hold a 1-0 lead in the ninth inning. The Dayton Dragons (Reds) rallied to tie in the ninth inning, scored one run in the 11th then two more in the 12th inning for a 4-2 win at Great Lakes. Loons catcher Kyle Farmer had three of the team's seven hits, including a triple.

Rookie level Ogden

The Raptors split a pair with the Grand Junction Rockies, taking the first game 4-3 and dropping the second 6-3. Julian Leon was 2-for-2 with a walk as the designated hitter in Game 1, and was 2-for-3 as a catcher in Game 2, but his most activity came behind the plate. The Rockies were overly aggressive with Victor Gonzalez on the mound in Game 2, stealing seven bases in 10 attempts in five innings against Gonzalez and Leon. In addition, Gonzalez picked off a pair of runners. Third baseman Michael Ahmed was 2-for-3 with an RBI in Game 2.
