Minor League Player of the DayAaron Miller (HiA) - 3 for 4, 1 HR, 3 RBI's, 3 Runs.  While he's batting just .248 with a .789 OPS in the hitter friendly California League, Miller wins the player of the day award for his big game on Thursday.

AAA – The Albuquerque pitching was outstanding on Thursday as the Isotopes shutout the Rainiers (Mariners) 6 - 0 on national TV.  Sam Demel started the game with 6 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and punching out 5.  Those would be the only two base knocks for Tacoma in this game as Matt Magill, Colt Hynes, and Josh Judy finished the game with 3 hitless innings.  At the plate Alex Liddi had a big game as he went 3 for 5 with a 2-run homer and 2 runs scored.  Trayvon Robinson had two hits including a double and also scored twice, while Jeremy Hazelbaker recorded a RBI triple.

AA – A five run 5th inning was enough to doom the Lookouts in a 6 - 1 loss to Mississippi (Braves).  Starter Nick Struck allowed all 6 runs in this game on 8 hits and 5 walks.  Hector Nelo pitched the final 2.2 frames and gave up just 1 hit.  On offense Ryan Adams continued his double-spree by collected two more two-baggers (after having 3 on Wednesday), while O'Koyea Dickson went 3 for 4.

HiA – The Quakes combined for 18 hits on Thursday in a 13 to 4 beat-down of the Rawhide (Dbacks).  Everyone in the lineup except for Brandon Dixon had at least 2 hits in this game, and even Dixon had a single and a RBI.  Aaron Miller had the team high for hits and RBI's as he went 3 for 4 with a homer and 3 runs batted in.  Chris Jacobs and Jon Garcia each also homered and had a double apiece, while Corey Seager and Tyler Ogle both doubled twice.  On the mound Julio Urias threw 3 innings and allowed just 1 run on 4 hits.  He didn't walk anyone and struck out 4.  Jack McGeary then followed with 3 more shutout frames of relief, picking up the win in the process.

LoA – Not a whole lot to see here as the Loons went down quietly for the Whitecaps (Tigers) 6 to 2Jacob Scavuzzo had two doubles and drove in a run while Paul Hoenecke went 2 for 4 with a two-bagger and a RBI as well, but that was about it for the offense.  On the mound Scott Barlow lasted just 2 innings and allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks.  His bullpen was solid after that as only Luis Chirinos permitted 2 unearned runs.

DSL – The Dominican Dodgers took and early lead then held on for a 6 - 5 win over the A's. Despite score 6 runs the offense only had one extra base hit in this game, and that was a double by Shakir AlbertJimy Perez and Hendrik Clementina both had 2 singles, however, with Perez driving in a pair of runs.  Starter Dennys Chica threw well as he allowed just 1 run over 4 frames.  From there the bullpen did now give up a hit over the final 5 innings, although they did permit 4 unearned runs thanks to a trio of errors by the defense.

Coming up – The Isotopes play a double header on Friday, with Carlos Frias starting the first game at 6:05 pm PST.  Tyson Brummett starts for the Lookouts at 5 pm, Jharel Cotton throws for the Quakes at 7:05 pm, and Victor Arano gets the ball for the Loons at 4 pm.

Minor League Transactions – AAA: Erisbel Arruebarrena was optioned back down to Albuquerque.  HiA: Freddie Cabrera was added to the Quakes roster while Fabio Martinez was removed for the time being.
