Minor League Player of the DayAlex Liddi (AA) - 4 for 4, 3 2B's, 4 RBI's.  Liddi didn't just go 4 for 4 with 3 doubles on Wednesday, but he also had the game winning hit for the Lookouts.  Since joining Chattanooga (from the Isotopes) Alex has a .353 average in 10 games, but he is also one of the older players in the league.

AAA – The Isotopes climbed back from an early 5 run deficit to defeat the Grizzlies (Giants) 8 to 7.  Starter Drew Carpenter allowed 8 hits and 6 runs over the first 4.2 innings of the game, but his bullpen was solid after he left.  Matt Magill picked up the win with 1.1 scoreless innings of work, then Scott Elbert continued his rehab with a perfect frame.  Pedro Baez did allow a run in the 9th but was still able to close the door for his 6th save of the year.  At the dish Brock Pederson and Carlos Triunfel both doubled and combined to drive in 5 of the Albuquerque runs.  Joc Pederson also had another big game as he joined the 20 - 20 club for the second straight season with his 20th homer, a solo shot, and his 25th stolen base of the season.

AA – The Lookouts got a big game out of Alex Liddi as they downed the Biscuits (Rays) 6 to 5.  Liddi smacked 3 doubles on the day, but it was his 3rd one, which came with the bases loaded, that turned out to be the game winner.  Scott Schebler connected on a solo homer for the only other offensive highlight.  On the mound Matt Shelton had a wild day as he walked 8 batters and also allowed 4 hits and 4 runs.  A trio of relievers also fought control as they walked two additional batters each, giving Chattanooga pitchers 14 total walks on the night, but they managed to limit the damage against them which resulted in the win.

HiA – Off day

LoA – The Loons and Bees (Angles) both had a quiet night at the plate on Wednesday, but Great Lakes managed to come out on top 1 - 0.  The two team combined for just 6 hits in this contest, all of them singles, so it took a well timed base knock by Joey Curletta in the 6th to push across the only run of the game.  Needless to say the pitching was great in this game, starting with Greg Harris who allowed just 2 hits over 5 scoreless frames.  Michael Johnson struck out 4 of the 5 batters he faced, then Jacob Rhame recorded the 5 out save and also punched out a couple.

Rookie Ogden – Off day

Rookie Arizona – The Arizona Dodgers also had a slow night offensively as they were shutout by the White Sox 2 to 0.  None of the 5 Dodgers hits went for extra bases, but Federico Celli did go 2 for 3 to lead his club.  Alex Verdugo also had one of the base knocks while the rehabbing Erisbel Arruebarrena was 0 for 4 as the DH.  Starter Kevin Guzman threw well in the loss as he tossed 6 scoreless frames and struck out 5.  2014 12th round pick Kam Uter took the loss in just his second game as a pro after allowing 2 unearned runs in an inning of work.

DSL – The Dominican Dodgers pounded out 13 hits on their way to a 5 - 4 victory over the Athletics.  The top three batters in the Dodgers lineup combined to go 7 for 11 in this game, including a 3 for 3 effort from Daniel PadillaJohan Mieses also had a big game as he went 3 for 4 with a double, a solo homer, and a stolen base.  On the bump starter Robert Fernandez allowed 3 hits, 3 walks, and 3 runs over 4 innings of work.  Edward Perez picked up the win in relief while Dennis Santana earned his 4th save with a perfect 9th and lowered his ERA to 1.35.

Coming up Red Patterson and the Isotopes start off Thursday's action with a 11:05 am PT game, then the rest of the clubs will follow later in the evening.  Chris Reed takes the mound for the Lookouts, Gustavo Gomez gets the ball for the Quakes, Brandon Martinez starts for the Loons, and Victor Gonzalez throws for the Raptors.

Minor League Transactions – AA: Tyson Brummett was placed on the DL while Juan Noriega was activated.
