With their win on Tuesday night over Atlanta, the Dodgers completed their 108th game of the season, exactly two-thirds of the way through the 2014 campaign. At 61-47 the Dodgers are on pace for 92 wins (well, 91.5), matching their total from 2013.
Through 108 games in 2013, the Dodgers were 59-49.
Here is a breakdown of the 2014 season in thirds, with the second 54-game stretch compared to the first 54 games. The run prevention was the biggest improvement over the second stretch, allowing nearly one run fewer per game.
2014 | W-L | Runs For | Runs Allowed | BA/OBP/SLG | ERA |
1st 54 Games | 29-25 | 231 (4.28/gm) | 221 (4.09/gm) | .257/.324/.415 | 3.48 |
2nd 54 Games | 32-22 | 222 (4.11/gm) | 173 (3.20/gm) | .263/.336/.385 | 3.19 |
Here are the individual players, beginning with the catchers, still an unproductive spot on offense.

On to the infielders, which included Adrian Gonzalez going vintage James Loney, Dee Gordon remaining productive including several triples, and Hanley Ramirez as a force despite starting just over two-thirds of the games.

The infielders and outfielders mostly stayed in their place, but Jamie Romak is a special case. He started two games in the infield (once at third, once at first) and two games in right field, but since he played 18 defensive innings in the infield compared to 14 innings in the outfield he gets classified as an infielder.
Now onto the outfield, where three players distinguished themselves even with an overall lack of power.

Now the pitching, which encapsulates the greatest 10-start run of Clayton Kershaw's career. Kershaw started the last game of the first 54-game stretch, and first game of the final 54-game stretch.

The starters pitched deeper into games, the by product of having a healthy Kershaw for all 54 games. The entire staff was healthy for all 54 games, with a Josh Beckett disabled list stint the only ripple in an otherwise serene pond. The five planned starters made 53 of 54 starts and the normal 12-man pitching staff accounted for 99.5 percent of the innings.
It helped out the bullpen too. Look at those walks go down:
