Minor League Player of the Day – Tyler Wampler (Arizona Rookie) - 3 for 3, 1 2B, 1 walk, 1 SB. The 2014 17th round pick out of Indian State had his first perfect day as a pro and was the lone bright spot in a Arizona Dodger loss.
AAA – The Isotopes scored 6 early runs and then held on for a 7 - 5 win over the Chihuahuas (Padres). Brock Pederson went 2 for 4 with a solo homer and 2 RBI's while Tim Federowicz also drove in a pair with a single and a double. The rehabbing Carl Crawford also chipped in with a triple, a single, and a stolen base in his third game with the Isotopes. On the mound starter Drew Carpenter allowed 5 hits and 5 runs over 6 frames yet still managed to collect the win. Yimi Garcia struck out a pair in his scoreless inning of work while Jose Dominguez picked up his 7th save of the season by recording 5 outs.
AA – The Lookouts managed just 5 hits in a 3 - 2 loss to the Suns (Marlins). Despite the lack of offense Scott Schebler had a big game as he went 2 for 4 with a double and a homer. Those were the only extra base hits for Chattanooga. Starter Andres Santiago took the loss after walking 6 batters and allowing 3 runs over 4.1 innings, although none of the runs were actually earned. Jarret Martin and Mike Thomas both provided solid relief in the defeat.
HiA – The Quakes had another strong offense game as Rancho downed Lancaster (Astros) 7 to 5. In an odd box score quirk the #3 through #5 batters in the Quakes lineup, Corey Seager, Chris Jacobs, and Aaron Miller, all had exactly two hits, both doubles, and drove in a run each. #2 hitter Adam Law also had two hits, although his were both singles, while #8 hitter Jeremy Rathjen went 3 for 4 to give him 8 hits over his last two games. On the mound Tom Windle picked up the win despite allowing 9 hits and 5 runs over 5.1 frames. The Rancho bullpen then dominated the latter part of the game as a trio of relievers did not allow a hit over the final 3.2 innings, including Rob Rogers who notched his 7th save of the season.
LoA – Off day
Rookie Ogden – Off day
Rookie Arizona – The Arizona Dodgers' bats were silenced in a 3 - 1 loss to the Rangers. Tyler Wampler went 3 for 3 with a double and drove in his club's only run in what turned out to be the extent of the offense. On the hill starter Yeuri Gonzalez threw well in the loss as he allowed just 4 hits and 1 earned run over 5.2 frames while punching out 5. Unfortunately a couple more unearned runs scored on 3rd baseman Jared Walker's 3rd error of the season.
DSL – The Dominican Dodgers fell victim to a 4 - 3, walkoff loss to the Royals in 12 innings. Moises Perez, Carlos Aquino, and Daniel Padilla each had a single and a double in this game, but that was it for the club's extra base hits. Starter Hector Rodriguez was brilliant on the bump as he allowed just 2 hits over 5 shutout frames. Reliever Angel German gave up 3 runs in the 6th, however, then after some solid relief from Edward Perez and Dennis Santana the game was lost by Angel Bautista.
Coming up – Everyone returns to action on Tuesday, but only some of the starting pitchers have been announced started with Stephen Fife throwing for the Isotopes. Chris Anderson gets the ball for the Quakes, Brandon Martinez takes the mound for the Loons, and Abdiel Velasquez gets the nod for the Raptors.
Minor League Transactions – AAA: Robert Carson was promoted to Albuquerque from the Lookouts. AA: Tyson Brummett and Ryan Adams were activated from the DL while Faustino Oguisten was sent down to Rancho. HiA: Pratt Maynard was sent on a rehab assignment to Arizona.
