DETROIT -- The Dodgers open a brief two-game series on Tuesday night against the Tigers in Detroit, and will do so with Hanley Ramirez at designated hitter, as expected.

Miguel Rojas gets the start at shortstop, batting ninth.

Dodgers designated hitters are hitting .320/.379/.480 with four doubles and five runs batted in this season. Dating back to last season Dodgers DHs have a 12-game hitting streak, hitting .415/.458/.717 during that span.

No current Tigers player has faced Hyun-Jin Ryu, pitching his first interleague game of the season.

Justin Verlander has never faced the Dodgers but he has faced a few of their hitters. Adrian Gonzalez has a home run against him, hit in 2008, but is also 2-for-14 (.143) with five walks. Juan Uribe is 2-for-15 (.133) with a double and two walks, and Drew Buter is 2-for-9 (.222).

Carlos Triunfel, who is not in the starting lineup, is 0-for-3 against Verlander.

The Dodgers are 5-1 in interleague road games this season.
