Minor League Player of the DayMichael Medina (Arizona) - 4 for 5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI's.  Medina had his best game as a professional on Thursday as he collected 4 hits and fell a triple shy of the cycle.  Still just 17 years old, Medina has come alive over the last 8 days with 4 multi-hit contests in 6 games.

AAA – The Isotopes were shutout by the River Cats (A's) 5 to 0 as the offense collected just 6 hits.  Tim Federowicz went 2 for 4 with a double and Darwin Barney collected hit first hit as a member of the Dodger organization, but that was it for the offensive highlights.  On the mound Zach Lee allowed 6 hits and 4 runs over his 6 innings of work, striking out 3 and walking a pair.  Matt Magill gave up the other run despite recording just one out.

AA – The Lookouts lost to the Barons (White Sox) 6 to 4 in the opening game of a five game series.  Starter Andres Santiago had just one bad inning as he allowed 4 runs in the 3rd, but that was enough for him to take the loss.  Mike Thomas gave up a run in relief, as did Juan Gonzalez.  At the dish Chris O'Brien went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple, while Bobby Coyle connected on a late homer.  Scott Schebler led the club with 3 hits, but none of them went for extra bases.

HiA – The Quakes pushed across a couple of runs in the 7th inning to burn the Blaze (Reds) 3 to 1 on Thursday.  Aaron Miller drove in all 3 runs for Rancho, the first one coming on a 1st inning hit and the other two coming on a 2-run single that turned out to be the game winner.  Robbie Garvey went 2 for 4 with a double for the club's only extra base hit, while Kyle Farmer went 2 for 3.  Starter Tom Windle threw very well as he allowed just 6 hits and 1 run on the way to his 10th win of the season.  Rob Rogers recorded his 8th save with a hitless 9th.

LoA – It took 13 innings, but the Loons finally beat the TinCaps (Padres) 5 to 4 on a walk-off wild pitch.  After scoring 4 runs in the first 5 frames, the Great Lakes offense went silent until Delvis Morales led off the bottom of the 13th with a walk.  A single, a ground out, and a fielders choice later saw Brandon Trinkwon and 3rd base with 2 outs, and he finally score the winning run on a wild pitch.  Joey Curletta, who was standing at home plate when the wild pitch occurred, also had a big game as he went 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI's.  On the mound starter Scott Barlow allowed two homers but in total gave up just 3 runs over 6 innings of work.  Several relievers followed out of the bullpen, including Matt Campbell who lowered his ERA to 0.90, and Mark Pope who picked up the win.

Rookie Ogden – The Raptors won a back and forth battle with the Owlz (Angles) on Thursday by a final score of 6 to 5Ivan Vela was the one that had the game winning double in the top of the 10th, but Justin Chigbogu had the more impressive game as he went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and connected on his league leading 12th homer of the season.  Devan Ahard also had 3 hits while Theo Alexander crushed a solo homer as well.  Starter Abdiel Velasquez lasted just 4 innings and allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, then Vaughn Hayward gave up 2 more unearned runs in relief.  A.J. Vanegas recorded the win in relief while lowering his ERA to 0.71 with 2 shutout innings.

Rookie Arizona – The Arizona Dodgers crushed the Brewers 11 to 1 on Thursday.  Player of the day Michael Medina had a huge day as he went 4 for 5 with a double, a homer, and 3 RBI's, and Clint Freeman was just as impressive with a hit hit day that included a 3-run bomb and 5 runs batted in.  Alex Verdugo also had a solid game with 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base.  The pitching in this game was also very good as starter Francisco Martinez allowed just 5 hits and 1 run over 6 innings.  A trio of bullpen arms combined for 3 scoreless innings of relief.

DSL – The Dominican Dodgers had just 3 hits in a 1 - 0 loss to the Royals.  All 3 hits were singles, so there are no offensive players worth mentioning.  Starter Gregor Mora was impressive on the mound as he allowed just 3 hits over 5 shutout innings to lower his ERA to 2.01.  Angel Bautista permitted just 1 hit in 3 innings of relief, but it resulted in a run so he was tagged with the loss.

Coming upChris Anderson highlights Friday's action as he throws for the Quakes, while Zachary Bird takes the mound for the Loons.  Jose De Leon gets the ball for the Raptors, Nick Struck starts for the Lookouts, and the other starter are yet to be announced.

Minor League Transactions – AAA: A flurry of moves for the Isotopes as Brian Cavazos-Galvez was released, Scott Elbert was outrighted back to the team, Walter Ibarra was sent to Chattanooga, Trayvon Robinson was placed on the DL, and Erisbel Arruebarrena was promoted back up to Albuquerque so he can start serving his suspension.  AA: Angel Sanchez was placed on the DL.  HiA: Dillon Moyer was assigned to the Quakes to take the spot of Arruebarrena.  LoA: Sven Schuller was sent to Arizona on a rehab assignment.
