Minor League Player of the Day – Michael Ahmed (Rookie-Pioneer) - 3 for 4, two runs scored and an RBI. Ahmed was the Dodgers 20th round pick in 2013 out of Holy Cross.
AAA – The Isotopes pulled within a run but then the 51's (Mets) pulled away to defeat the Isotopes 8-3. Chris Reed made his AAA debut where he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five runs (three earned), four hits, three walks and struck out three. Red Patterson closed out the sixth inning but he allowed a run. Colt Hynes struck out the only two batters faced. Tim Federowicz and Clint Robinson had two hits apiece. Joc Pederson hit his 26th home run. Jamie Romak doubled in two runs.
AA – The Lookouts and the Biscuits (Rays) game was postponed, they will try to play two on Sunday.
HiA – The 66ers (Angels) scored three runs in the first inning leading to their 10-4 win over the Quakes. Luis Chirinos started for the Quakes and pitched 4 innings, allowing five runs, six hits, walked three and struck out four. Daniel Tillman and Luis Meza were ineffective as they allowed the other five runs. James Baldwin, Casio Grider and Pratt Maynard both had two hits. Robbie Garvey tripled, scored two runs and drove in one run.
LoA – The Loons were shutout 1-0 by South Bend (Dbacks). Brandon Martinez scattered two hits and four walks in his 5 innings. Michael Johnson allowed the one run, a solo home run in his 2 innings. Ralston Cash struck out two in his inning pitched. The Loons had eight hits and two walks but were hitless in seven at bats with runners in scoring position. Jesmuel Valentin and Josmar Cordero each had two hits.
Rookie Ogden – The Raptors defeated the Brewers 7-1 to stay in first place. The Raptors kept pace with Grand Junction in their second half race for the playoffs. John Richy, Trevor Oaks and Brock Stewart each pitched three innings. Oaks got the win while Brock Stewart was the most effective striking out six while giving up two hits and one walk in his scoreless three innings. MIchael Ahmed was 3 for 4 and scored two runs. Jimmy Allen was 2 for 4 with two doubles. Cody Bellinger and Julian Leon were each 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI
DSL – In a sloppy game, Dominican Dodgers lost 5-1 to the Astros Blue (Astros). The Dodgers committed six errors in the loss. Michael Urena and Johan Diaz pitched well in the loss.
Transactions – (AAA) Trayvon Robinson was activated from the disabled list, Jose Dominguez was placed on the disabled list
Coming up – The Dominican Summer League is off on Sunday but everyone else is scheduled: Scott Barlow and the Loons will begin at 11:05 PT. Matt Magill will take the mound for the Isotopes at 12:05; the Lookouts will try to play two, the first game will have Steve Smith starting at 2:35. the second game will have Raydel Sanchez pitching for the Lookouts, Jeff Brigham and the Raptors play at 3:00, and the Quakes play at 5:05 and Tom Windle to toe the rubber for Rancho Cucamonga.
