Minor League Player of the Day – Chris Anderson (Rancho Cucamonga Quakes - HiA) - 6.2 innings pitched, 3 runs, 11 hits and 5 strikeouts. Anderson's quality start plus two outs was a season's best in terms of distance. Anderson paced the Quakes to their Friday night win.
AAA – The Isotopes lost the series finale to the River Cats (Athletics) 6 to 1. Jeff Bennett started and gave up four runs and six hits in 5 innings of work. Yimi Garcia pitched 2 innings and allowed two runs and three hits. Paco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless inning. Joc Pederson was 0 for 4 with three strikeouts and Alex Guerrero was 0 for 3. Brock Peterson was 1 for 4 with a triple, Tim Federowicz hit two doubles in four at-bats.
AA – The Lookouts went out in front of the Barons (White Sox) early and won 7 to 3. Nick Struck pitched a solid six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out 5. Bobby Coyle led the offense with a 3 for 4 night with a home run. Daniel Mayora was 2 for 3 with a home run. Corey Seager had two singles in four at-bats and drove in two.
HiA – The Quakes defeated the Blaze (Reds) 8 to 5 as Player of the Day Chris Anderson paces Rancho Cucamonga to the win. Jeremy Rathjen and Dillon Moyer each homered, Rathjen was 3 for 5 with two doubles to go along with his home run. Moyer was 2 for 4. Catcher Tyler Ogle had a double and a triple.
LoA – The Loons won a pitching duel against the Lugnuts (Blue Jays) 3 to 1. Zachary Bird, Ralston Cash and Victor Araujo pitched well holding the Lugnuts to one run and seven hits. The trio also struck out 13. Webster Rivas provided all the offense when he hit a three-run home run in the 4th.
Rookie Ogden – The Raptors were on the losing side as the Owlz (Angels) won 9 to 6. A sloppy game as each team had four errors. The Raptors made two crucial errors in the 5th that allowed the Owlz to come back and tie the game. Jose De Leon started and was the pitcher on the mound during the 5th, he allowed seven hits, six runs (two earned), walked two and struck out nine. Devin Ahart, Michael Ahmed, Ivan Vela and Jimmy Allen each had two hits. Catcher Hunter Redman homered before leaving the game with an injury.
Rookie Arizona – The Arizona Dodgers led 8 to 4 before rain suspended their game against the Brewers. The Dodgers scored five runs in the top of 1st, collecting six hits, including four doubles. After the Brewers got within two runs, the Dodgers scored two runs in the top of the 5th and then the rains came to halt the game.
DSL – The Dominican Dodgers won 4 to 2 over the Rays. Three pitchers allowed just two unearned runs, Miguel Urena, Johan Diaz and Edward Perez, allowing nine hits and struck out seven. The Dodgers only had three hits but scrambled to score four runs to win the game.
Coming up – Barry Enright starts for Albuquerque; Matt Shelton goes for Chattanooga; Julio Urias pitches for Rancho Cucamonga; Victor Arano toes the rubber for Great Lakes; John Richy takes the mound for Ogden; Arizona and the Dominican Dodgers also play on Saturday.
