Minor League Player of the DayScott Schebler (AA) - 2 for 5, 2 HR's, 4 RBI's.  Schebler drove in all 4 Lookout runs on Sunday with his two homers, and he now has 20 bombs on the season.  He is also steadily improving his OPS which is now almost at .900.

AAA – The Isotopes lost their 5th straight games on Sunday, falling to Tacoma (Mariners) 8 to 5Joc Pederson hit his 24th homer of the season in the 9th, a 2-run shot, and Tim Federowicz went 2 for 5 with a double, but was about it for the offensive highlights.  On the mound starter Red Patterson had another rough outing as he allowed 5 hits, 4 walks, and 5 runs in just 3 innings, and over his last 10 appearances the right hander has an ERA of 7.41.  Matt Magill gave up 2 more runs in relief, but on the bright side Scott Elbert tossed another shutout inning.

AA – Scott Schebler was a one man show on Sunday as his second homer of the day gave the Lookouts a 4 -3, walk-off victory over the Barons (White Sox).  Schebler drove in all 4 of Chattanooga's runs in this game, the first two coming a 2-run bomb in the 3rd inning.  A couple of hours later Scott came through again, this time in extra innings with his team down one and the game on the line.  Those two long balls accounted for almost half of the Lookouts hits in this game as offense was quiet otherwise.  Corey Seager did collected a triple, however, and his average is now .340.  Starter Chris Reed threw very well as he allowed just 1 run on 5 hits over 7 innings of work.  Jarret Martin lowered his ERA to 3.38 with 2 perfect frames, and while Juan Noriega gave up a run in the top of the 11th he turned out to be the winning pitcher.

HiA – The Quakes were burned by the Blaze (Reds) in a 8 to 1 loss.  Despite matching Bakersfield with 6 hits, Rancho was only able to turn that into one run as James Baldwin's double was the club's only extra base knock.  Robbie Garvey went 2 for 4 and stole a base.  Starter Jharel Cotton put together another strong outing as he allowed just 3 hits and struck out 7 over 7 frames, however 4 runs scored against him as one of the hits he allowed as a homer.  Only 2 of those runs were earned thanks to an Adam Law error.  Gustavo Gomez then struggled out of the bullpen as he gave up 3 more runs in just 1.2 innings of work.

LoA – Fresh off the DL, Jesmuel Valentin contributed immediately as his walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th gave the Loons a 4 - 3 victory over the Lugnuts (Blue Jays).  Valentin's single followed a dropped third strike that turned into a throwing error which scored Jacob Scavuzzo for the tying run.

Paul Hoenecke also contributed as he went 2 for 3 with a double, which was the Loons only extra base hit of the day.  Starter Greg Harris did a decent job as he allowed 4 hits and 3 runs over 5 frames, striking out 6 along the way.  Jordan Hershiser followed with 3 perfect innings, then Mark Pope picked up the win with a scoreless 9th.

Rookie Ogden – Off day

Rookie ArizonaGrant Holmes lost for the first time in his professional career as the Arizona Dodgers fell to the White Sox 3 to 2.  Holmes threw well despite the defeat as he struck out 8 over 5 innings without issuing a walk.  He did give up 3 runs on 6 hits, however.  Carlos Felix finished up the game with 3 scoreless frames.  The Dodger offense did not record an extra base hit in this game, although both Deivy Castillo and Clint Freeman went 2 for 4 with a RBI each.

DSL – Off day

Coming up – The Isotopes send Carlos Frias to the mound on Monday, while Steve Smith will throw for the Lookouts.  Lindsey Caughel gets the call for the Quakes, Brandon Martinez starts for the Loons, and Jeff Brigham will be on the bump for the Raptors.

Minor League Transactions – LoA: Jesmuel Valentin was activated from the DL.
