Minor League Player of the Day – (AA) - Chris O'Brien, 3 for 4, double, one run. Chris O'Brien had a pretty good August and post-season but he wasn't enough to stop the Suns.
AA – The Lookouts fell behind early as another starter couldn't do the job as the Suns (Marlins) defeated the Lookouts 6 - 1 to complete the sweep and win the 2014 Southern League Championship. Jeremy Kehrt started and only went 2.1 innings giving up three runs, five hits and a walk.
The Lookouts didn't have a lot of choices to start in the playoffs and their best pitcher, Chris Reed was sent up to Albuquerque in the beginning of August. So that meant a lot of guys had to try and resemble one as the Lookouts went on an unexpected run to the championship series.
But this finally caught up with the Lookouts as the starters took the loss in each of the three games and Jacksonville also did a number on Corey Seager and Scott Schebler. Seager and Schebler combined for an 0 for 7 with three strikeouts in this game. Chris O'Brien had another fine game but it wasn't enough.
This is the last daily Minor League Report at least until the Arizona Fall League starts, we hope you enjoyed them.
