Dodgers infielder Chase Utley issued a statement regarding the appeal of his two-game suspension on Monday, an appeal process that looks like it will be drawn out such that Utley will be available for at least one, if not both games at Citi Field.

Second source saying Utley appeal unlikely to be heard today. Sounds like he indeed will be available for #Dodgers tonight.

Definitely no appeal hearing for Utley today, almost certainly not tmrw either. So Utley eligible at Citi Field #Mets #Dodgers

On Utley appeal, MLB can't conduct hearing unilaterally. Union gets time it needs to research similar incidents and disciplinary precedents.

Game 3 is 5:37 p.m. PT on Monday. Starting lineups haven't yet been announced, but Utley is 6-for-18 (.333) with a home run and a double against Mets starter Matt Harvey, and the home run was hit earlier this season.
