The Dodgers close out their home schedule with a weekend series against the Padres, with Alex Wood starting the opener on Friday night.

This will be the 12th start for Wood since joining the Dodgers, and just his fifth at home. The left-hander is 2-4 with a 6.14 ERA on the road since joining the Dodgers, with 24 strikeouts and 18 walks, but at home he's 2-2 with a 2.36 ERA, with 21 strikeouts against only four walks.

Dodgers starting pitchers at home this season have a 3.05 ERA with a 22.8-percent strikeout rate and 5.3-percent walk rate, never walking more than three batters in any home start this season. They have 52 quality starts in 78 home games, compared to 41 in 81 road games.

On the road, Dodgers starters have a 3.49 ERA with a 21.5-percent strikeout rate and 7.2-percent walk rate, averaging 5.91 innings per start compared to 6.16 innings per start at Dodger Stadium.

At 52-26 at Dodger Stadium in 2015, the Dodgers need to sweep their final series against the Padres to end with the best home record for the franchise since moving west in 1958. The 1980 team was 55-27 (.671), playing (and losing) an extra home game to decide the National League West that season.

Casey Kelly starts for the Padres. Adrian Gonzalez, for whom Kelly was once traded, is 1-for-2 with a walk against Kelly, though that meeting was nearly three years ago to the day.

The Dodgers are 43-30 (.589) against the National League West this season, including 25-10 (.714) at home. The club has won 11 of 16 against the Padres, including four of six at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers have won seven straight home series against the Padres, dating back to 2013, and are 16-6 in those games at Dodger Stadium.

Scully out

Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully will miss the final weekend of the regular season, home with a cold, per the team.
