LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers and new manager Dave Roberts have made it official, announcing on Monday the official reporting and first workout dates for spring training in 2016.
Pitchers and catchers will report to Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz. on Friday, Feb. 19, with the first workout scheduled for Feb. 20. Position players will report on Wednesday, Feb. 24, with the first full squad workout set for Feb. 25.
The Dodgers open their Cactus League schedule on March 3 against the White Sox at Camelback Ranch.
The club's final spring game in Arizona is on March 30 against Cleveland, meaning camp lasts all of 41 days. Back in southern California, the Dodgers and Angels will play three Freeway Series games - March 31 and April 1 at Dodger Stadium, then April 2 in Anaheim - to conclude the spring slate.
The Dodgers open their 2016 regular season on Monday, April 4 against the Padres at Petco Park in San Diego, a 4:05 p.m. PT game that will be nationally televised by ESPN.
