LOS ANGELES -- After a two-year hiatus, the Dodgertown Classic is expected to return to Dodger Stadium on Sunday, March 8 with a pair of college baseball games, featuring UCLA, USC and a pair of top-10 teams.

The Dodgers haven't yet officially announced the return of the event, but all four schools list games at Dodger Stadium on that Sunday on their respective schedules.

No. 1 Vanderbilt, the defending College World Series champions, will face TCU, ranked No. 7 in the Baseball America preseason top 25, at 10 a.m. PT, with UCLA and USC facing off at 3:30 p.m. PT. The Bruins are ranked No. 11.

Vanderbilt took part in the inaugural Dodgertown Classic in 2010, beating Oklahoma State 7-6 in the opening game, a contest that featured 3⅔ scoreless innings in relief from Cowboys freshman pitcher Andrew Heaney, who was sort of a Dodger for a few hours in December as the three-way trade with the Marlins and Angels was being finalized.

The USC vs. UCLA game will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks, continuing the tradition of televised baseball games at Dodger Stadium unable to be seen by a large segment of the greater Los Angeles area.

The Dodgertown Classic began in 2010 and was played at Dodger Stadium for three years. The four-team event was scheduled for 2013 as well, but stadium construction forced a venue change to Jackie Robinson Stadium at UCLA. With more renovations in 2014, there was no Dodgertown Classic last year.

Dodgers minor league catcher Kyle Farmer, drafted in the eighth round in 2013, played shortstop for Georgia in the 2011 Dodgertown Classic.

More information regarding tickets and parking will follow once it is announced by the Dodgers. In past years, Dodgertown Classic tickets ranged from $5-7 in advance to $10-12 on the day of the event, with free parking and discounted concessions.
