Sunday was an unusually busy day for the Dodgers and their minor league affiliates. It wasn't just because the big club made a pair of moves, calling up pitchers Scott Baker and Carlos Frias with both Yasiel Puig and Joel Peralta headed for the disabled list.
Here is a quick recap of all the moves made on Sunday:
Dodgers placed Puig on the 15-day DL
Dodgers placed Peralta on the 15-day DL
Dodgers moved Brandon League from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL
Baker promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City to Dodgers
Frias promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City to Dodgers
Mike Bolsinger activated by Oklahoma City (was optioned Friday)
Mike Carp activated by Oklahoma City (he signed Saturday)
RHP Josh Ravin was activated from the DL by Oklahoma City
RHP Matt Shelton was placed on the DL by Oklahoma City
LHP Rudy Owens was placed on the DL by Oklahoma City
LHP Mike Thomas was promoted to Oklahoma City by Double-A Tulsa
RHP Randy Fontanez was promoted to Oklahoma City by Double-A Tulsa; to make a spot start in place of Frias (the minor league Rule 5 pick Fontanez was just promoted to Tulsa from Class-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday)
1B Lars Anderson was demoted from Oklahoma City to Double-A Tulsa
I've seen some things in 7+ years of working in baseball. 10 roster moves (5 full transactions) in one day is a new one, though.

RHP Jacob Rhame was promoted from Class-A Rancho Cucamonga to Double-A Tulsa. The Dodgers' sixth-round pick in 2013 struck out 13 in seven scoreless innings for the Quakes, allowing only three runners to reach base. Rancho Cucamonga manager Bill Haselman was high and Rhame and A.J. Vanegas last week, saying, "They have the stuff it takes, they have the velocity. Just need some fine tuning going forward."
RHP Fabio Martinez was activated from the DL by Tulsa
3B/1B Paul Hoenecke was demoted from Tulsa to Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
IF Luis Meza joined Rancho Cucamonga from extended spring training
IF Delvis Morales was placed on the DL by Rancho Cucamonga
So there you have it, 18 different players up and down the system involved in transactions on Sunday. Busy day.
