Zach Lee matched his season high seven innings in Sunday's 2-0 win over the 51s. Lee allowed four hits and one walk in getting his fifth win of the season. Lee struck out three batters; Lee is averaging a little under 6K/9 innings in May.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers won their third straight when they defeated the 51s (Mets) 2-0. This was their fifth team shutout of the season.
Zach Lee pitched an efficient game, using only 88 pitches in his seven innings. Ramon Troncoso pitched the eighth inning and David Aardsma picked up his league leading 14th save.
Darnell Sweeney went 3-for-5, Scott Schebler drove in a run as he went 2-for-4. Elliot Johnson was 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Corey Seager was 1-for-5 and is hitting .238/.281/.286 in 88 plate appearances in AAA.
Double-A Tulsa
Sunday's game was rained out and the teams will play a doubleheader at Northwest Arkansas (Royals) on June 9th.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes lost 6-4 to the Giants which extended their losing streak to six games. The Quakes led 4-2 going to the bottom of the eighth when the Giants scored four runs leading to their win.
Zack Bird threw 50 pitches in only two innings of work, Bird walked four and struck out one. The Quakes bullpen did a good job for five innings, allowing just one run but Daniel Tillman allowed four runs and five hits in the eighth inning.
The Quakes scored all of their runs in the sixth inning. With two out, Cody Bellinger walked and Paul Hoenecke singled. Joey Curletta followed with a three-run home run. Later Delvis Morales singled in Brian Wolfe to complete the scoring.
Low Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons scored at least one run in six of nine innings but it wasn't enough as the Captains (Indians) held on to a 12-11 win over the Loons. The Loons produced 19 hits, Josmar Cordero led the way with a 4-for-5 game with a double and home run.
After four innings, it was 9-8 Captains and then the Captains added three more runs off Yeuri Gonzalez. Gonzalez, who took the loss, gave up nine runs in his 2⅔ innings of work.
Every Loons starting player had at least one hit. Alex Verdugo and Kelvin Ramos had three hits; Jimmy Allen, Jacob Scavuzzo and Spencer Navin had two hits. Johan Mieses and Jimmy Allen also homered.
