RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- There were four rehabbing Dodgers playing for the Quakes at LoanMart Field on Monday night. Each of them played well as they got ready to come back to the majors. The Quakes won the game 9-0 over the High Desert Mavericks.
Scott Van Slyke played his third straight rehab game, this night he started at first base. Paco Rodriguez made his first rehab appearance while Joel Peralta and Brandon League had already started their rehab.
Rodriguez started and after surrendering a triple, Rodriguez got three ground outs, the first resulted in a fielder's choice at home. He finished with 1 IP, no runs and one hit.
Van Slyke hit a two-run home run to left and he finished 2-for-4 and two runs scored. Van Slyke had said on Sunday that he would be ready to go back to the Dodgers on Wednesday and he does appear to be all set to go. He scored from second easily on a single and slid home without any incident.
Peralta was making his third appearance since Thursday, he pitched the a perfect eighth inning, getting two pop-ups and one hard ground out.
League finished the game with a strikeout, a single off his shoe, a force out at second and ground out to second. League was pitching the first game in a scheduled back-to-back situation. League said over the weekend that he is planning to return to the Dodgers on June 24th.
Peralta and Rodriguez's next rehab appearance has not been announced
There will a new Dodger joining the Quakes to begin his comeback. Right-handed pitcher Brandon Beachy is making his first rehab appearance tomorrow in Rancho Cucamonga.
