Austin Barnes goes 4 for 4; OKC Dodgers win 7-5

Player of the day

Catcher Austin Barnes had his best day as an Oklahoma City Dodger going 4-for-4 with a home run and a double. Barnes helped the Dodgers take the third game of their four game series.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City was able to withstand a late rally by Round Rock (Rangers) to get the 7-5 win. Round Rock scored three runs in the eighth inning but that was not enough.

Eric Surkamp pitched five innings and got the win. Surkamp allowed two runs, five hits and struck out three. Matt West gave up two runs in 2⅓ innings. Daniel Coulombe allowed a run in ⅔ inning. Chin-hui Tsao picked up his first save.

Along with his four hits, Austin Barnes scored three runs. Corey Seager was 1-for-3 with a double. Kyle Jensen had a 2-for-5 night with a triple and four RBI.

Double-A Tulsa

Tulsa had the day off.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga opened their three game series at Modesto (Rockies) with a 2-1 extra-innings win. Zack Bird, Rob Rogers and Ramon Benjamin all pitched well.

Zack Bird pitched six innings, gave up one run, five hits, one walk and struck out six. Rob Rogers pitched three scoreless innings. Ramon Benjamin pitched the final two innings for the win.

Rancho Cucamonga had ten hits but also struck out 13 times. Kyle Farmer, Joey Curletta and Brian Wolfe all had three hits.

The winning rally consisted of a single by Farmer, a double by Cody Bellinger and a sacrifice fly by Paul Hoenecke.

Low Class-A Great Lakes

Great Lakes continued their winning ways as they defeated Burlington (Angels) 4-3. It was the sixth straight win for Great Lakes and it meant a perfect homestand of six wins and no losses.

Kevin Guzman pitched six innings, gave up three runs, five hits and struck out two. Derrick Sylvester, David Reid-Foley and Jose Alberto Molina held Burlington down.

Jacob Scavuzzo and Spencer Navin each had two hits and a run scored.

Triple-A: Placed infielder Nate Samson on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to June 6, 2015; activated infielder Darwin Barney from disabled list.

Rookie: DSL Dodgers placed pitcher Jesus Canizales on the 60-day disabled list
