LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers on Tuesday with their fifth-round pick of the 2015 MLB Draft selected shortstop Brendon Davis of nearby Lakewood High School with the No. 162 overall pick.
Davis was ranked the 129th-best prospect by Perfect Game entering 2015, but missed his senior season with a fractured left wrist, apparently suffered in a February tractor accident, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com.

He was a second-team preseason All-American by Baseball America after hitting .372 in 2014 as a junior.
The 6'4, 170-pound Davis was ranked 496 in the Baseball America top 500, but not listed in the MLB.com top 200 nor in David Hood's top 200.
He has a commitment to play baseball at Cal State Fullerton, where his father Gary played basketball.
"First off they were my dream school," Davis told Mike Guardabascio of The Gazzettes. "Their program is different than a lot of other colleges, it’s more of a pro atmosphere."
The slot value for this pick is $313,600.
