LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers go for a second straight win on Tuesday night, and will try for an eighth consecutive home win against the Diamondbacks, but will do so without Justin Turner in the starting lineup.
Turner suffered a left knee contusion in Monday night's win, and is sitting on Tuesday. Starting at third in his place is Alberto Callaspo, batting eighth and starting for the fifth time in 11 games.
The Dodgers get Yasiel Puig back after a planned rest day on Monday. Manager Don Mattingly said Monday that Puig would play the remaining two games of the series.
But that is mitigated somewhat with Joc Pederson sitting, getting a day off after 22 straight starts in 23 days.
"I was trying to wait until the day off Thursday, but he just looks a little bit worn down, beat up," Mattingly said Tuesday.
Chris Heisey gets the call in center field with the left-handed Robbie Ray on the mound, and Jimmy Rollins gets a night off too, with Enrique Hernandez starting at shortstop.
Alex Guerrero took extra outfield practice early on the field at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, shagging fly balls hit by Davey Lopes. Guerrero gets his second straight start in left field tonight.
The D-backs are batting Ray eighth on Tuesday, the third time this season Arizona has batted their starting pitcher eighth. Chris Pennington bats ninth, playing second base.
