Scott De Jong homers in third straight, Raptors win 12-9

Player of the day

Scott De Jong homered in his third straight game to help pace the Raptors big offensive night. De Jong also walked three times and scored three runs.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

Dodgers started their three-day All-Star Break and will not play again until Thursday.

Double-A Tulsa

Jharel Cotton gave up two home runs to Yeison Asencio that led to the Missions (Padres) defeating the Drillers 6-5. Cotton gave up six runs, six hits, two walks and struck out five in his 5⅔ IP.

Ronald Torreyes was 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored. Brian Burgamy hit a home run and went 2-for-4.


Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

Rancho Cucamonga fell 5-2 to the 66ers (Angels) on Monday night at LoanMart Field. Zack Bird gave up three runs but only one was earned. Bird struck out eight and walked two in his five inning start.

With Johan Mieses, Brandon Dixon and Cody Bellinger going 0-for-13, the Quakes could only muster two runs. Paul Hoenecke and Josmar Cordero each had two hits.

Low Class-A Great Lakes

The TinCaps (Padres) shutout the Loons 2-0. Grant Holmes gave up two runs (one earned), five hits, a walk and four strikeouts in 5 IP.

Alex Verdugo was 1-for-4 and extended his hitting streak to nine games. Verdugo is hitting .358/.364/.509 in July and has continued his upswing since June 1st. Julian Leon also had two hits.


Rookie Ogden

The Raptors held on to a 12-9 win over Voyagers (White Sox). Behind ten hits and eight walks received plus a 5-for-8 night with RISP, the Raptors got out to a 12-4 lead but saw the Voyagers score five runs in the eighth with the tying run up to the plate before getting the win.

Along with Scott De Jong, Nick Dean was 3-for-6 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI. Deion Ulmer went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.

2015 draft pick Isaac Anderson (40th round) pitched 1⅔ IP, allowed no runs, one hit, one walk and three strikeouts as Anderson picked up first save.

AZL Dodgers

The Dodgers took an 8-2 lead to the ninth and then saw the Reds score four runs before getting the last out to win 8-6. Miguel Urena got his third win, going six innings and allowing four hits, two unearned runs and striking out four.

Lucas Tirado, Jared Walker, Shakir Albert, and Ibandel Isabel each had two hits.

DSL Dodgers

The Dodgers lost in 12 innings 2-1 to the Rojos (Reds). Shortstop Jefrey Souffront, who was signed during the 2014 International signing period, was 2-for-4 with a double.


Class-A: Outfielder Robbie Garvey sent to AZL Dodgers on a rehab assignment.

Rookie: Infielder Alberto Estrella assigned to DSL Dodgers from AZL Dodgers; placed first baseman Erick Meza on the 60-day disabled list.
