The Dodgers open their series against the Braves on Monday night at Turner Field, and will do so with catcher Austin Barnes behind the plate, joining the club from Triple-A Oklahoma City

Starting catcher Yasmani Grandal is out of the lineup one day after taking a foul tip off his mask. Grandal initially feared his jaw was broken though X-rays were negative.

No roster move has yet been announced by the Dodgers.

A.J. Ellis replaced Grandal behind the plate in the sixth innings and caught the final four innings on Sunday.

Ellis has a six-game hitting streak, including Sunday's game as a reserve, and has reached base via hit or walk in his last 10 games. Since May 25, Ellis is hitting .300/.417/.480 with two home runs, three doubles and 10 walks in 18 games.

Old friend Juan Uribe has gotten the playing time he craved, starting 36 of 47 games entering Monday night. He's hitting .278/.322/.458 with seven home runs and five doubles in 158 plate appearances with Atlanta.

That playing time for Uribe has come partly with Chris Johnson shifting from the hot corner to first base. Freddie Freeman last played on June 17, sidelined with a right wrist contusion. The Braves have used a combination of Kelly Johnson (14 starts) and Chris Johnson (eight starts) in the 26 games Freeman has missed.

Joey Terdoslavich starts at first base on Monday night for Atlanta.
