The Dodgers will try to win the series and season finale against the Braves. The players starting for the Dodgers have done well against Braves starter Julio Teheran in the past:

Jimmy Rollins has a .946 OPS in 26 plate appearances, Adrian Gonzalez is 5-for-13 with a home run, Carl Crawford is 4-for-8 with a home run.

Some pregame notes:

Update on Brett Anderson

Mattingly and staff left last night thinking that Brett Anderson would have to go on the disabled list but this morning, Stan Conte reported to Mattingly that Anderson was "a lot better this morning than [Conte] thought he would be, so that's been encouraging." Anderson is taking the MRI this morning in Atlanta.

Breaking up Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke

With the off days coming up, Mattingly said that the plan of splitting Kershaw and Grenke could be looked at again.

Transaction announcement

Left-handed pitcher Ian Thomas was called up and left-handed pitcher Adam Liberatore was optioned to Oklahoma City.

Resting Justin Turner

Mattingly said they are just giving Justin Turner a day off. "This is as good as [Turner] has looked in a while," Mattingly said, "I think we wore [Turner] down before the break and we don't want to get into that."
