The Dodgers had a pair of rainouts in Oklahoma on Tuesday, but most of the focus was in Arizona, with the $62.5 million man beginning a rehab assignment.

Player of the day

Hector Olivera began his road back from a hamstring injury with a minor league rehab game with the rookie-level Arizona League Dodgers. Olivera was 1-for-3 with a walk and a single, and scored two runs as the designated hitter. It was his first game action since straining the hamstring with Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 20.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

OKC was rained out at home against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals), a game that will be made up as part of a doubleheader on July 21 in Omaha. The Storm Chasers aren't scheduled for a return trip to Oklahoma City this season.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers were rained out at home against the San Antonio Missions (Padres), a game that will likely be made up on the road in San Antonio as part of a doubleheader next week. The Missions aren't scheduled for a return trip to Tulsa this season.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

Zack Bird struck out eight in six innings, but also allowed four runs, taking the loss in the Quakes' 4-0 demise on the road to the Lancaster JetHawks (Astros). Erisbel Arruebarrena was 2-for-4 in the loss and played second base for the third time in his four games with Rancho Cucamonga.

Low Class-A Great Lakes

Kyle Garlick, 28th-round draft pick by the Dodgers this year, was 2-for-4 with a double but the Loons fell to the Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays) 5-3. Matt Beaty, the club's 12th-round pick, also had two hits for Great Lakes in defeat.

Rookie-level Ogden

The Raptors got home runs from Matt Jones and non-drafted free agent Nick Sell, but fell to the Missoula Osprey (Diamondbacks) 7-6. Since joining Ogden, Sell has a nine-game hitting streak, hitting .405/.425/.757 with 12 RBI.

Rookie-level Arizona

The AZL Dodgers beat the AZL Athletics 9-4, and in addition to Olivera there were a few others on rehab assignments. Pablo Fernandez allowed a run and struck out five in 2⅔ innings in his second U.S. professional start, and Trevor Cahill made his Dodgers debut, striking out four with no walks in 1⅔ innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits.
