Player Of The Day

Outfielder Jacob Scavuzzo was promoted at the end of June to Rancho Cucamonga and all he's done is hit .333/.384/.607 in 160 plate appearances. Scavuzzo had two doubles, scored a run and had one RBI on Thursday night.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers and Zephyrs (Marlins) were scoreless going to the sixth inning. Then the Dodgers scored single runs in the sixth and seventh and then held on for a 2-1 win.

Zach Lee won his ninth game, pitching 6⅓ innings and allowed one run, four hits, four walks and struck out six. Chin-hui Tsao and Juan Gonzalez had scoreless appearances with Gonzalez picking up his eighth save.

Centerfielder Darnell Sweeney was 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the seventh that scored the second and final run for the Dodgers.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers scored two runs in the eighth and one run in the ninth to beat the Rough Riders (Rangers) 5-4. With two out in the ninth, Nate Samson singled in Peter Lavin with the ultimate winning run.

Julio Urias started for the Drillers and pitched five innings. Urias gave up three runs (two earned), six hits and struck out six. Ramon Benjamin got the win and Ryan Dennick picked up his third save.

Nate Samson was 3-for-5, Brandon Trinkwon was 3-for-3, Robbie Garvey pinch-ran for Trinkwon and scored but did not attempt a stolen base.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes trailed early but roared back to defeat the Mavericks (Rangers) 8-2. Pablo Fernandez pitched five innings, allowing two runs, seven hits, one walk and five strikeouts. Michael Johnson, A.J. Vanegas and Karch Kowalcyzk pitched shutout relief.

Brandon Dixon, Cody Bellinger and Tyler Ogle each drove in a run in the third inning to take the lead. Cody Bellinger two-run home run in the ninth inning scored the seventh and eighth runs for the Quakes.

Jacob Scavuzzo was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, an RBI and a walk. Cody Bellinger hit his 26th home run and was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI.

Low Class-A

The Loons saw Grant Holmes pitch only 2⅔ innings and give up seven runs (five earned) which led the Cougars to their 7-3 win over the Loons.

Holmes also gave up eight hits, two walks and struck out one. Pitchers David Reid-Foley and Matt Campbell didn't give up any runs but is was too late.

2015 draft pick Willie Calhoun (4th round)  hit his first home run for Great Lakes and was 2-for-4.

Rookie - Arizona League

Behind impressive pitching by Nolan Long and Sven Schuller, the Dodgers beat the Indians 4-2. Long pitched five scoreless innings in his first start and Schuller struck out five in just two innings of work.

Jordan Paroubeck was 2-for-4, Hendrick Clementina was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Rookie - Dominican Summer League

The Yankees beat the Dodgers 6-4 on Thursday. Jeffery Souffront was 3-for-5, Carlos Mosquera, Luis Paz, Romer Cuadrado each had two hits.

Mosquera also stole his nineteenth base.

Triple-A: Los Angeles optioned Jose Peraza to Oklahoma City.

Double-A: Pitcher Daniel Tillman assigned to Tulsa from Rancho Cucamonga; pitcher Jorge De Leon released.
